Description of lesson.
History fails students in the sense that many important figures are left out due to social or political reasons. Sor Juana is one of them. Because of her gender, her story and life is left out of the history books, but it is important for students to become familiar with key historical figures who have been left in the margins.
Assignment: Students will need to watch the video story I create about Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. They will then need to create their own video story, 3-5 minutes long, about a historical figure in hispanoamerican culture that interests them.

Technology used: PhotoStory3
The technology used in this lesson changes the teaching / learning in this way: PhotoStory3 is like powerpoint with a key component added: the student's voice. Students will have the chance to add not only facts and knowledge about a person in history, but also their own perspective. With this, the students get a closer relationship with the topic and this in turn helps them disseminate the information to the rest of the class more clearly.
